Buenos días! Hace mucho que no os enseñaba un mercado, así que hoy os traigo mi favorito en DC, el Fish Market del Wharf. Como estamos tan cerca de la Bahía de Chesapeake aquí venden sus famosos cangrejos, ostras y almejas gigantes. Nos encanta ir a comprar pescado y marisco, que nos lo cuecen allí mismo, y comemos en casa. Nuestro menú favorito? Unas ostras, gambas al ajillo, cangrejos cocidos con Old Bay, patas de cangrejo gigantes (yo les digo solomillo) con mahonesa de estragón y rematamos con langosta mojada en mantequilla noisette.

Good morning! It's time to visit my favorite market in DC, the Fish Market at the Wharf. Since we are close to the Chesapeake Bay, they sell its famous crabs, oysters and big clams. We love buying fish and seafood here, where they even cook it, and taking it home. Our favourite menu? Some oysters, garlic shrimp, crabs cooked in Old Bay, huge crab legs (which I call tenderloin) with tarragon mayonnaise and lobster with noisette butter.

Napoleon takes good care of us and selects always the best!

Venden cangrejos y patas de todos los tamaños, hasta puedes elegir si quieres hembras o machos, y los famosos cangrejos azules de Chesapeake.

They sell crabs and legs in every size, you can even choose if you want female or male, and the famous blue crabs from Chesapeake.

Además hay un montón de pescados diferentes que en España no se ven.

There are a lot of species we don´t find in Spain.

Os presento a Flounder, el amigo de la Sirenita!

Introducing Flounder, the Little Mermaid's best friend!

Esto es parecido a los boquerones y se llaman smelts.

Smelts are a small fish, like anchovies.

Las truchas arco iris tienen muy buena pinta.

These rainbow trouts look good.

Y los calamares...

And the squid...

El salmón aquí también es bastante rico, pero el atún deja bastante que desear.

Salmon here is really good, but tuna is not so great.

Hay unas caballas enormes a las que llaman caballa española.

There are really big mackerels, called Spanish, but they are very different from the ones we get in Spain.

Y tienen otras rarezas como tiburón y pez gato!

Sometimes we find weird stuff like shark and cat fish!

También tenemos pendiente probar la carne de caracolas... ya os contaré qué tal!

And we still haven't tried conch meat... but I'll let you know if we do!
