Buenos días! No os podéis imaginar lo complicado que está siendo encontrar macetas en esta ciudad, aquí no hay un "todo a 100" ni una tienda de chinos donde comprar tantísimas cosas básicas. Así que en un momento de desesperación absurda las compre online, 3 macetas de terracota, y acabaron llegando en mil pedazos. Y como soy una ansiosa y no pude esperar, terminé haciendo una yo misma, mientras se resolvía la operación terracota. La comparto por si queréis reciclar o dar un toque diferente a vuestras plantas!

Good morning! You can't imagine my misadventures trying to get pots in this city, there's no many shops in this area, my neighbours are the World Bank, the IMF and the president, so no dollar stores around. I ended up buying 3 clay pots online and when I finally got them they were all broken. My patience is not that great, so I make this one while I waited for the "clay adventure" grand finale. I'm sharing it in case you want to recycle or give a different touch to your plants!

El Eastern Market es un mercado pequeño y variado, que los domingos se vuelve mucho mas animado y crece con puestos callejeros donde venden fruta y verdura de las huertas cercanas a DC. Fantástico para probar los productos locales y comprar cosas frescas!

Good morning! After showing you Capitol Hill area, today I´m taking you to its market. The Eastern Market is a small market but sells almost everything. It gets better on Sundays with street stalls selling fruit and vegetables from local farms. It's great to shop fresh groceries!

Buenos días! En Washington la primavera se celebra a lo grande con muchos eventos y actividades de lo mas variopintas. De momento queda nieve en las calles y los cerezos no han florecido, pero el sábado está previsto que se celebre el Festival de las Cometas, si el tiempo no lo impide. Todavía me acuerdo de mi primera cometa, era de las Tortugas Ninja y terminó atrapada en un pino de La Mancha. El Mall de DC está bastante despejado así que esperemos que estas tengan una vida algo mas larga... Empezamos? Yo he hecho dos versiones, la azul es de papel de seda y la rosa es de seda, ya os contaré cuál vuela mejor! De momento os puedo decir que la de papel se hace un poco mas rápido.

Good morning! Spring in Washington is celebrated all over the city with events and activities around the Cherry Blossom Festival. There´s still some snow melting on the sidewalks and the cherry trees haven´t blossomed yet, but this Saturday we will celebrate the Kite Festival, if the weather lets us. I still remember my first kite, it had the Ninja Turtles on it and ended up crashing a pine, so I hope this ones survive a little longer... Ready? I've done two different versions, the blue one is tissue paper and the pink one is silk, I´ll let you know which one flies better, now I can only say the paper one was easier to make.

Buenos días! Se acerca la Semana Santa y, como este año las torrijas de mi madre me quedan un poco lejos, me he decantado por decorar huevos de pascua, que aquí se lleva más y engorda menos! En DC es típica una carrera de huevos que celebran para los niños en el jardín de la Casa Blanca. Y las tiendas desde hace semanas están llenas de decoraciones con huevos de colores, conejos de Pascua y huevos de chocolate. El origen de pintar huevos no está muy claro, pero yo me quedo con la teoría de que, al no comerlos durante la Semana Santa por temas de ayuno, había excedente y por no malgastarlos los pintaban. Empezamos? 

Good morning! Easter is almost here and, since this year I don´t get to enjoy Spanish torrijas, I´m following a different tradition decorating Paschal eggs, which is way healthier! In DC they celebrate a children egg run at the White House garden, and shops are full of pastel eggs, easter rabbits and chocolate eggs already. The origin of hand painted eggs is not very clear, my favourite theory says people didn't eat eggs during Lent so they had to do something useful with them as the hens wouldn't stop producing just because it was Easter. Let's start!
