Se llega a través de unas carreteras con curvas, pero merece la pena descubrir este bonito lugar de paredes encaladas, Os llevo de ruta por este pequeño pueblo blanco andaluz de la sierra malagueña, sus empinadas calles te harán sudar, pero por lo menos siempre corre aire fresco y las vistas son maravillosas. Ponte calzado cómodo y a explorar!
Good morning! Today's destination is special as Casares has been our home for the past months. You need to drive on curvy roads to reach this beautiful whitewashed place. I'm taking you around this small hanging white Andalusian town in the mountains of Malaga. The narrow uphill streets will make you sweat, but there's always fresh air and the views are pretty awesome. Wear some comfy shoes and get ready to explore!
Lo que empezó siendo una tarde en la que llevar el coche al taller para que le cambiasen una rueda acabó siendo una noche estupenda cenando en el precioso Kabuki Raw, en la Finca Cortesín. Mi chico nunca deja de sorprenderme. Resulta que en Casares, el pequeño pueblo donde hemos vivido este año, hay un restaurante con estrella Michelín. Yo pasaba cada día por delante de camino al trabajo sin tener ni idea, así que me alegro de haberlo probado antes de marcharnos.
What started being an afternoon taking the car for a wheel change turned into a wonderful evening having dinner at the beautiful Kabuki Raw, inside Finca Cortesín. My boy always surprises me. Casares, the small town where we have lived this year, happens to have a Michelin star restaurant. I drove by everyday on my way to work and had no idea, so I'm really happy we discovered it before leaving.
A mí personalmente me cuesta elegir cuando voy a un sitio nuevo, así que de cabeza a por el menú degustación, una selección de las especialidades. Tenéis hambre?
I really have a hard time choosing from the menu, specially if it's my first time at the restaurant, so we went for the tasting menu, with a selection of their essentials. Are you hungry?

El Chef del Mar fue encantador al recibirnos en su cocina, y lo mismo hay que decir de su tripulación, que nos mimó muchísimo durante toda la experiencia.
Good morning! Since we are in the south of Spain this year we celebrated Carlos birthday at Aponiente, the beautiful restaurant by Ángel León, located in a tide mill at El Puerto de Santa María. The Sea Chef kindly received us in his kitchen, and his crew really pampered us during the entire experience.

Buenos días! Seguimos descubriendo Andalucía, y hoy toca uno de sus pintorescos Pueblos Blancos; Vejer de la Frontera, en Cádiz. Lo visitamos un día de mucho calor y muchísimo viento, lo que lo hizo soportable. El pueblo está en lo alto de un monte y sus calles empinadas y llenas de fachadas encaladas te llevan hasta la encantadora Plaza de España, presidida por una fuente decorada con azulejos sevillanos y ranitas que echan agua por la boca.
Good morning! We are still discovering Andalusia, and today we are in one of its charming White Towns: Vejer de la Frontera, in Cádiz. We came here on a really hot day with really strong wind, but it made it almost ok. The town is on a hill and its white streets take you to the lovely Plaza de España square, with a fountain decorated with typical ceramics and frogs.
Buenos días! Ya os adelanté algo sobre Cádiz y el atún en mi visita a Zahara de los Atunes, y hoy nos vamos a Barbate, el otro pueblo famoso por sus atunes de almadraba. El Campero es lugar de peregrinaje para los amantes del atún, y aunque tuvimos algún problema con la confirmación de nuestra reserva en el restaurante, pudimos probar la carta de terraza en el bar, mucho más informal y dinámica. Nos atendió un señor encantador que nos fue recomendando platos para compartir en la barra, y al final hasta nos alegramos de habernos quedado sin mesa!
Good morning! I already told you a little about Cadiz and tuna on my visit to Zahara de los Atunes, and today we are going to Barbate, the other town famous for its almadraba tunas. El Campero is a must stop for tuna lovers, and even thought there was a problem with our restaurant reservation we got to try the menu on the bar, much more casual. A nice guy took care of us and recommended dishes to share, so at the end we were glad we didn't get a table!

La provincia de Cádiz es conocida por tener una de las costas más deseadas de España, la Costa de la Luz. Pero aparte de luz (y viento) también es famosa por otras cosas, como sus vinos generosos y su espectacular atún! Hoy visitamos dos ciudades, primero Zahara de los Atunes, donde no hace falta que os diga cuál es la especialidad, y luego Cádiz, la capital.
The Province of Cádiz is known for one of the most wanted coasts of Spain, the Light Coast. But apart from light (and wind) it's also famous for its fortified wines and delicious red tuna! Today we are visiting two cities, starting with Zahara de los Atunes, the place to eat tuna, and then Cádiz, the capital city.

Dejamos atrás Baeza para llegar, entre un mar de olivos, hasta Úbeda, otra ciudad de Jaen con un rico patrimonio monumental gracias a personajes como Francisco de los Cobos y el arquitecto Andrés de Vandelvira. Empezamos la visita en la plaza Vázquez de Molina, donde se encuentran la espectacular capilla del Salvador, el palacio del Deán Ortega que hoy es un Parador, el palacio de las cadenas y la Iglesia mayor.
We leave Baeza behind and reach Úbeda through an ocean of olives. The city, also in Jaen, has a great monumental heritage thanks mainly to Francisco de los Cobos and his architect Andrés de Vandelvira. We start the tour at Vázquez de Molina square, surrounded by the Salvador chapel, the palace of Deán Ortega which is nowadays a Parador, the palace of the chains and the main church.

Hoy empezamos el recorrido en Baeza, una de esas encantadoras ciudades andaluzas con una arquitectura muy rica gracias a la herencia romana, islámica y cristiana, sobre todo de estilo renacentista. Cómo va vuestro mes de Junio? Ya estáis de vacaciones?
We start the tour at Baeza, one of those charming andalusian towns with lovely narrow streets to wander. It has Roman, Islamic and Christian roots, so the architecture is a great mix and a well preserved example of Italian Renaissance. How is your summer going? Are you on holidays already?
Además de la Mezquita y el Alcázar, Córdoba tiene un sin fín de callejuelas y patios cuajados de flores. La primavera aquí tiene un encanto especial.
Apart from the Mosque and Alcázar, Córdoba has endless narrow streets and patios in bloom. Spring has a special charm in this city.

La Mezquita con sus famosos arcos se lleva casi todo el protagonismo de la ciudad debido a las reformas que ha sufrido a lo largo de los años hasta convertirse en catedral. Junto a la mezquita y el río se encuentra el Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos con sus espectaculares jardines, el lugar ideal para escaparse en primavera.
The Mosque with its famous arches gets most of the attention due to the reforms suffered during years to finally be turned into a cathedral. By the mosque and the river we find the Alcázar of the Christian Monarchs, with wonderful gardens, the perfect place for a spring walk.
