What to wear on a boat: 5 outfit ideas

Buenos días! Este verano estoy pasando bastante tiempo  en  el mar, algo que había echado mucho de menos los últimos años, y que sigo disfrutando tanto como recordaba, por lo que también me gusta compartirlo con vosotras. Si hace unas semanas os hablaba de mis 10 imprescindibles en verano o de 10 looks para pasar unas vacaciones mediterráneas, hoy os traigo 5 estilismos prácticos  y estilosos que son  un éxito asegurado a bordo de cualquier velero o yate. Así que, si tenéis pensado salir a navegar durante estas vacaciones, tomad buena nota!

Good morning! This Summer I am spending quite some time at the sea, something I had really missed these past years, and I still  enjoy  it as much as I remembered, so I  would like to share  a bit with you all. A few weeks  ago I  shared  my 10 Summer essentials and 10 outfit ideas for a Mediterranean vacation, and today  I  am sharing 5 useful and  stylish outfits to dress for  success when you board a sailboat or a yatch.  So, if  you are planning to board a boat this Summer, I hope this inspires you!

 
 

1. Blanco total y rayas rojas / Total white and red stripes



El blanco en verano es un acierto seguro, y para esos días de viento fresco o travesías al atardecer os recomiendo un pantalón cómodo blanco, una camiseta sencilla y un jersey de rayas en rojo, que siempre aporta un toque alegre. A bordo lo normal es ir descalza, pero para llegar hasta el barco puedes combinar el look con una sandalia plana blanca y un bolso a juego.

White is a winner any Summer, and for  those fresh windy days or sunset sailing I would suggest a comfy  white pant, a simple tee and a red stripes sweater, that always adds a bright touch. You will mostly be  barefoot on board, but until you get here you can pair this outfit with flat white  sandals and a matching bag.

 
 


 
 

2. Caftán floral y pañuelo de seda / Floral caftan and silk scarf


 
Si por el contrario es un día caluroso en el que vayas a estar continuamente entrando y saliendo del agua, el mejor look es un caftan vaporoso sobre tu bikini o bañador. Completa el look con un pañuelo anudado a la cabeza para evitar una insolación, puedes volver a ver mi tutorial para usar un pañuelo en verano AQUÍ! Como calzado puedes elegir unas tradicionales alpargatas planas, con suela de esparto y goma que  no raya el barco.

If, on the other hand, it is a hot day, one of those you will spend getting in and out of the  water, opt for  a flowy caftan on top of  your bikini or swimsuit. Finish the look with a scarf knotted  on your head to avoid direct sun, you can check my tutorial with ways to wear a scarf in the Summer HERE! Choose a pair of flat espadrilles as footwear, the traditional ones with jute and rubber soles that won't damage the boat.

 
 


 
 

 3. Rayas marineras / Navy stripes



Uno de mis clásicos veraniegos  favoritos son las rayas marineras, que podéis recordar en algunos looks anteriores AQUÍ. Y lógicamente son la opción infalible para subir a bordo de un barco. Combina una camiseta de rayas con unos shorts blancos, combínalo con una diadema  o anuda un pañuelo a modo de cinta de pelo, y listo!

One of my classic Summer favorites are navy stripes, which you  can remember from some past looks HERE. And of course  they make the perfect sailing outfit. Match a striped tee with white shorts, add a  headband or a scarf knotter that way, and you are ready!


 
 


 
 

4. Camisa y short de lino / Linen shirt and shorts


 
Ya os conté por aquí que el lino es mi tejido favorito para vestir en la playa, y a bordo de un barco funciona igual de bien: deja  traspirar, no se pega al cuerpo ni a  las cremas y nos protege la piel del sol. Unos shorts de lino son cómodísimos, y una camisa abierta sobre el bikini además de ser cómoda aporta  un toque de estilo fantástico. Remátalo con un bonito sombrero para proteger la cabeza.

I already told you here that linen is my favorite fabric to wear at the beach, and the same goes for a boat: it lets your skin breath, doesn't get sticky  with sweat or sunscreen and protects  our skin from sunburns.  Linen shorts are super comfy, and an open button down over you bikini adds a lot  of style to the mix. Top it with a nice hat to protect your hair and head.

 
 


 
 

5. Falda ibicenca, sombrero y capazo / White boho skirt, hat and basket bag 



Esta falda tiene algún año más que yo, pero cada verano me acompaña en mis momentos de felicidad  mediterránea. A veces la uso en looks de calle con un forro debajo, pero para planes de mar la  pongo  simplemente sobre un  bikini, le añado accesorios rústicos como un capazo y un  sombrero de  paja, y no necesito más!

This skirt is older than me, but each Summer is by my side during my Mediteerranean happiness moments.  Sometimes I wear it with a lining  for more dressed situations, and for by-the-sea plans I just wear it over a bikini and grab a straw hat and basket, easy like that!

    Creo que todas las opciones son fantásticas, me gusta el primer outfit por el toque de la chaqueta o jersey, que en alta mar suele hacer fresquete y nunca viene mal :)
