Buenos días! Hoy profundizamos en el Acuario Nacional, una de las mayores atracciones de Baltimore. A primeras suena a actividad para ir en familia con niños, pero la verdad es que es para todas las edades, es espectacular ver tantísimas especies de las que sabemos tan poco. Así que si estáis por la zona os lo recomiendo!
Good morning! Today we are diving in Baltimore's National Aquarium, one of the main attractions in the city. At first it might sound like a plan for families with children, but it turns out it's a cool place for all ages, it is so amazing discovering all these species we have no knowledge of. So, if you are in the neighbourhood, I really recommend it!
Empezamos por el arrecife en el que conviven tiburones punta negra, rayas con estampado de leopardo, una tortuga enorme y un montón de peces de todos los tamaños y colores, mientras que del techo cuelga el esqueleto de una ballena.
We start on the black tip sharks reef, where they swim with leopard print rays, a huge turtle and lots of fishes in every size and color, while a whale skeleton hangs from above.
Bajando por el interior del tanque de tiburones te van rodeando tiburones, peces sierra y otras curiosidades como el pez erizo.
Descending inside the sharks alley you are surrounded by sharks, sawfishes and some weird friends like the porcupine fish.
En las zonas dedicadas al Amazonas y a Australia hay especies muy exóticas. No solo peces, también reptiles, pájaros y ranas!
In the Amazon forest and Australia spaces there are a lot of exotic species. Not only fish, but also birds, reptiles and frogs!
Tienen otra zona dedicada a criaturas con "superpoderes" de lo mas curiosas. Anguilas que producen descargas eléctricas, erizos que se defienden con sus pinchos, peces y ranas que cambian de color para camuflarse, caballitos de mar que nadan a saltitos...
There's another area for amazing creatures with "superpowers". Electric eels, sea urchins, fish and frogs that camouflages by changing its color, seahorses that move skipping...
En otra zona tienen los seres de Maryland y los habitantes de las orillas del mar.
They also show the sea shore and Maryland area animals.
Por supuesto Nemo no podía faltar, escondiéndose entre los corales.
Of course Nemo was also there hiding in the coral reef.
También tienen un delfinario, y mi parte favorita, la Invasión de las Medusas. Te quedas hipnotizada viendo cómo se mueven, cada especie totalmente diferente. Para comer van atrapando con sus lazos las partículas y las van llevando hasta la cabeza, muy curioso!
There is also a dolphin sanctuary, and my favourite part; the Jellies Invasion. You can spend hours watching them move, every specie in a different way. They catch food pieces with their legs and make it go towards their heads, truly amazing!
